This time Boyz II Men are more focused, more determined and more composed than ever. Nathan Morris, Shawn Stockman and Wanya Morris have proven that even after a little adversity and the departure of member Michael "Bas" McCary, Boyz II Men persevere and remain strong.
It was in 1991 when the melodically gifted group first got together as students at Philadelphia's School for Performing Arts. After the group sang a capella for member of the New Edition, Boyz II Men were helped in securing their first record label with Motown. Boyz hit the ground running with the multimillion-selling debut Cooleyhighharmony. From there, they scored a series of milestones that set the bar for musical peers, including record setting R&B/pop chart tenures for their #1 singles, End of the Road and I'll Make Love to You.
The group also enjoyed success with smash hits like On Bended Knee and the longest-standing #1 single in Billboard history, One Sweet Day, featuring Mariah Carey.
Following Cooleyhighharmony, Boyz II Men released six more top-selling albums including Christmas Interpretations, II and Evolution. The group sold over 60 million albums worldwide, earned a host of Grammys, American Music Awards, World Music Awards, NAACP Image Awards, and Soul Train Music Awards. They even managed to break a record previously held by Elvis Presley.
It was the Boyz's incredible hit, End of the Road that dethroned Presley's Heartbreak Hotel, as the longest running single at #1. Remarkably, the group later ended up breaking their own record with their phenomenal single, One Sweet Day, and then earned the prestigious and rear Riar Diamond Award for the album, II which sold over 14 million copies.
The Boyz have created a new album entitled, Throwback, an impressive tribute to several timeless classics. The album, which is destined to gratify and captivate their fans, features remakes of Michael Jackson's Human Nature, Al Green's Let's Stay Together and Hall & Oates Sara Smile.
So what can the world expect from Boyz II Men? Shawn Stockman sums it up well: "Expect a totally new attitude. An energy that we've been longing to expose and one that people have yet to see. We're going to use this opportunity to grow and do the things we were never given the room to do. This is our time right now. Just expect new things from us because we're in control of our destiny and it's exciting."
