At the Palms from 1/25-28.despite the "hip"status, the crowd is pretty much typical Vegas all ages.I'm 51 and didn't feel out of place. The room was ok, the 3 chairs were cheap, but the bed was great, good as advertised, bathroom was fine.Room didn't seem as big as advertized for some reason, Rooms at the Golden Nugget and Aladdin seemed bigger, but it was fine, since I was travelling solo this time.Staff was friendly and helpful enough, only 1 sour one I encountered, but thats about average.Coffee shop and buffet was good, only 1 bad meal out of 4 at the coffee shop(avoid the chicken fried steak)Buffet was good 4 out of 4, brakfast and lunch. The poker room was good, good staff, well run place. Saw lots of full pay VP, though didn't play a whole lot. And the drink service at the machines was spotty, heard others mention it was pretty bad.Slot club is average i hear, didn't check my card before I left, and the Poker room will comp for food with several hours a day. Any casino rate for rooms is probably not gonna happen for average players. I had well over 5 hours a day in the poker room.Might stay again if I got a good discount, payed 88$a night this time, others payed maore depending where you book. But uts a bit better on the strip or fremont St.
