We flew out on Allegiant Air - our first time. It was non-stop but seemed long as we were going into a strong headwind.
We rented our car through Thrifty, using our new Blue Chip Membership. Great service, nice upgrade and we were able to skip the rental counter completely and head straight for the shuttle. At the lot, we went in the VIP line; absolutely no waiting! Drop off was just as seamless.
Our first time at the Stardust; we were glad we had chosen it as it's going down in 2007. We asked for and received an upgrade to a west tower suite. It was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Our dining experience at the Stardust was horrible! I literally could not eat my steak & eggs. It was our only meal there. The valets were great. Overall we were very happy and would stay again.
We had tickets to see "X" at Alladin and so ate at the Spice Market Buffet. It was good - but certainly not as great as I had heard. It was entertaining though as it was a couple of nights before the Miss America pageant being held there, and there were lots of ex-beauty queens on hand. Trust me - you could tell! I felt sorry for them, little tiny bits of food on their plates...Gambling there was okay, but not great. We enjoyed the show, although it started late. Went a couple of other places not worth mentioning and headed back.
Friday morning we got up and went to see the Wynn. My gosh it is beautiful, clean and relaxed. Without a doubt, they have the friendliest most attractive staff/dealers etc. in Vegas. The carpeting too is great; clearly it was designed for tired feet! We entered their Red Card Club and with only 50 points (easy to get) were given two comp buffets. We had lunch and it was AWESOME!! In fact, it's so good, we would pay full price in a heartbeat. Gambling wasn't bad there either and great drink service.
Friday night we took in the Titanic exhibit at the Tropicana. Well worth it!! Gambling there was not great. Hungry, we stopped at In and Out Burger. They're not around here and always good.
Sat. We got up early and had breakfast at the Paris Buffet(only $27 for both of us). FANTASTIC - fresh berries w/ cream and the crepes were to die for. Definitely a regular stop. The gambling there was not too good. We drove out to Henderson after a stop at Terrinble's and had some fun. We played table games. He did well. We headed for our room, cleaned up and went to mass. Afterward, we headed downtown. Played a lot at Binion's, doing pretty well and met up with a couple we played w/ at Sam's Town. Had a blast and used the drink service plenty too. Had dinner upstairs in the Steakhouse as I had a gift certificate. Hubby's Prime Rib was great but my lobster was tough and bland. Played a bunch downtown, doing well at the Plaza. Even though it's a dump, it's always so fun to play table games there. I got my first BlackJack of the entire trip on Sat. night at 9pm - now that is a dirty shame, as I played a lot of BJ! We bought some souvenirs...did some more gambling and headed back.
Had to get up Sun. for a 6:45am flight! We left the hotel at 5:15 and I was in a bad fog! Flight home was uneventful- I slept. With a nice tailwind, we were home on time.
Had so much fun, Hubby is planning next trip for August.
