When we planned this 10 day trip last year, we wanted to spend 3 days in Vegas (for our anniversay-was married there 2 years ago at Flamingo!!) and a week in Laughlin but found out when hotel prices were so high that it was motorcycle week in laughlin so decided to stay at Harrahs Las Vegas for the whole 10 days instead. Had a terrific time but do have some money saver tips. First of all, if you are going to Vegas and want to save some real money, get the Las Vegas advisor book of values!! We saved over $300 easily from using that book!! We did a buffet a day, usually around 2 pm and used a coupon each time for a buy one-get one. Best buffet was Planet Hollywood with a close second of Mirage. Palms buffet was good but not as good as previously. We went for the champagne brunch on the weekend and it was good. Since we knew we were going to be there for 10 days, we did a Red Rock Canyon Tour and Mt Charleston through Annie Bannani (Excellent, excellent tour!!) and at a great price. We also did the Grand Canyon tour at half price and highly recommend the bus tour-a very long day but so worth it!! We also did a trip to Laughlin-$5 for the bus and they give you a free buffet coupon for Colorado Belle!! The bus driver (can't remember his name-I think it might be Buck?? was super!!! He is a Vegas native and all the way to Laughlin, narrated the drive with in depth knowledge of the area. Very informative and fun!! Gambling was lousey but I did get 4 of a kind on a bar video poker machine 3 times in a row!! We are very modest gamblers but have alot of fun!! We went downtown via the Sams Town bus but then found out that the deuce is now charging $5 for a 2 hr ticket to get back to the strip! Wicked expensive!! Also, Harrahs charges $11.95 a day for internet but you can go to the McD's right next door for free wifi and most Starbucks also have free wifi so we wouldn't pay the extra. A great trip! 10 days went by very fast!! Next year, Laughlin with a side trip to Sedona!!
