LAS VEGAS - May 14, 2012 - Humor, music and a little mayhem. You’ll get it all in the full presentation of The Official Blues Brothers Revue at the Cannery Casino’s indoor concert venue on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 8 p.m. Admission is $10 at the door. The performance begins at 8 p.m.
The Official Blues Brothers Revue, featuring Wayne Catania as “Jake” and Kieron Lafferty as “Elwood”, is an entertaining and unique show that blends music and humor as only the Blues Brothers delivered it.

Rogue Warrior Military Cage Fighting Championship at Cannery Casino June 16

LAS VEGAS - May 10, 2012 - The Cannery Casino is proud to host the Rogue Warrior Cage Fighting Championships, a competition that honors wounded military service members on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 7 p.m.
The Mixed Martial Arts competition is a patriotic event that will benefit the Stars and Stripes Foundation, a 501(c) 3 non profit organization based in Las Vegas, which offers support to wounded military service members, veterans and their families.
The Rogue Warrior Championship event will feature professional fighters who are active military or military veterans, and are representing their particular branch of the military -- Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines. The event will pit Marines against the Army, Navy against the Air Force and so on. The fights takes place inside a steel cage and are sanctioned by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Las Vegas—Actor and comedian David Brenner brings his hilarious take on news of the day to the Suncoast Showroom, June 9 and 10.
Brenner has made 158 appearances on “The Tonight Show” over the course of his career, making him the most frequent guest in the show’s history. Known for basing his routine on current events, Brenner is a popular TV political pundit, with regular appearances on MSNBC, CNN and Fox News.
Prior to stepping on stage, Brenner wrote, produced and directed 115 television documentaries, which earned him nearly 30 awards, including an Emmy®. He’s authored numerous books, including “I Think There’s a Terrorist in My Soup” and the best-seller “Soft Pretzels With Mustard.”

LAS VEGAS - May 4, 2012 - Musicians representing two bands that had an indelible impact on music and culture of the 1960s and 70s will perform at The Club inside The Cannery Casino on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 8 p.m.
Chuck Negron, formerly of Three Dog Night and Blood, Sweat & Tears will perform the hits that made both famous.
Although he received several scholarships to play college basketball, it was music that Chuck Negron truly loved. By 1967, Negron was a founding member of Three Dog Night which focused on pop/soul vocals, great songs, brilliant musicians and three part harmony. That combination set the band apart and by 1975 it had sold 50 million records with such hits as “One,” “Shambala,” “Joy to The World,” “Old Fashioned Love Song,” “Mama Told Me Not To Come.”

LAS VEGAS - May 3, 2012 - Good times, good music, good food and good fun! Summer at the Cannery Casino officially begins May 26, 2012 with the KOOL Radio’s Summer of Fun Kick-Off Festival and Car Show.
The annual and free event will feature American groups from the 1960s and 70s whose hit songs were mainstays on the radio. The lineup includes Shades of Blue, The Dixie Cups, Gary Lewis & The Playboys and The Buckinghams. Tickets are available to the general public, free of charge, and can be picked up at the Cannery Casino box office at the front desk.

R&B Hit Makers The Manhattans Return to the Suncoast Showroom June 16-17

Las Vegas—Legendary R&B group The Manhattans will bring their doo-wop and soulful sounds to the Suncoast Showroom, June 16 and 17.
Named after the cocktail of whiskey, vermouth and bitters, The Manhattans formed in the early ‘60s. Their first hit on the Billboard charts was the 1964 song, “I Wanna Be (Your Everything),” the first of eight singles for the group, nearly all in the Top 30.
The group rose to prominence in 1972 with the release of “One Life to Live,” which went to No. 3 on the US R&B charts. A follow up single, “There’s No Me Without You” also topped at No. 3 on the charts. In the mid-‘70s, The Manhattans achieved top 10 success again with “Don’t Take Your Love” and “Hurt.”
