Award-Winning Country Music Star Sara Evans to Perform at The Orleans Showroom July 13-14

Las Vegas—Singer and songwriter Sara Evans will perform her hit country songs at The Orleans Showroom July 13 and 14.
 
Evans debuted in 1997 with “Three Chords and the Truth” and followed-up with her second album “No Place That Far” in 1998. The album’s second single, and title track, gave Evans her first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot Country charts.
 
Her third studio album, “Born to Fly” was released in 2001 and included four hit singles – the title track, “I Could Not Ask For More,” “I Keep Looking” and “Saints & Angels.” That same year, Evans was the most nominated artists at the County Music Association (CMA) awards with seven nominations overall, and she won her first CMA award when “Born to Fly” was named “Video of the Year.”
 
During the next few years, Evan continued to chart top ten hits including “Perfect,” “Suds in the Bucket” and “A Real Fine Place to Start.” In 2006, she was named the “Top Female Vocalist” by the Academy of Country Music.
 
Evans most recent album, “Stronger” was released in 2011 and features the No. 1 hit “A Little Bit Stronger.” She is currently working on her seventh studio album.

Justin Willman Presents “Like A Magician, But Cooler” at the Suncoast Showroom July 13-14

Las Vegas—Television personality and entertainer Justin Willman performs his unique magic act in “Like A Magician, But Cooler” at the Suncoast Showroom July 13 and 14.

Willman currently hosts the hit shows “Cupcake Wars” and “Last Cake Standing” on the Food Network and is the star of “HubWorld” and “Scrabble Showdown” on the Hub Network. He can also be seen as the witty correspondent on the “Rachael Ray Show.”

He appeared in the Showtime documentary “Make Believe” in 2011, guest-starred on the hit CBS show “The Defenders” in 2012 and made a cameo on the long-running Disney Channel sitcom “The Suite Life on Deck” in 2009. He’s also the creator and executive producer of the video-on-demand TV series “Turning Tricks” on the DirecTV network.
 
Willman began entertaining at the age of 12. After breaking both of his arms trying to ride a bicycle while wearing rollerblades (a hopeless attempt to impress girls), he started learning card tricks as an alternative to physical therapy. Nicknamed by his mother as “Justin Kredible,” he officially turned pro when his parents hired him to perform at his sister’s fifth birthday party.

Rock Icons The Lovin’ Spoonful Perform Their Greatest Hits at the Suncoast Showroom July 6 and 7

 Las Vegas—Popular 1960s rock group The Lovin’ Spoonful will perform at the Suncoast Showroom July 6 and 7.
 
The Lovin’ Spoonful burst onto the music scene to become one of the most revered groups in music history with their first seven singles reaching the Billboard Hot 100 top 10 throughout 1965 and 1966.
 
Combining the best of folk music and rock and roll, with a touch of country thrown in, they gave us such hits as "Daydream," "You Didn't Have to be So Nice," "Nashville Cats" and the anthem for a hot July evening, "Summer in the City." The bands first single, “Do You Believe in Magic,” remains a defining rock and roll anthem.
 
Several songs by The Lovin’ Spoonful have been featured in movies including “Pow!” as the opening theme of Woody Allen’s “What’s Up, Tiger Lily” and “Darling Be Home Soon” in Francis Ford Coppola’s “You’re A Big Boy Now.” In 1980, the band performed a cameo in Paul Simon’s film “One-Trick Pony.”
 
In 2000, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame.
 
The current line-up of The Lovin’ Spoonful includes two of the original members, Steve Boone and Joe Butler, as well as Jerry Yester, Mike Arturi and Phil Smith.

Comedienne Paula Poundstone Returns to The Orleans Showroom July 5-6

Las Vegas—Comedienne, writer, actress and author Paula Poundstone is bringing her unique stand-up act back to The Orleans Showroom, July 5 and 6.
 
Poundstone began nurturing her stand-up comedy talent in 1979 on the Boston comedy scene before moving to San Francisco. By 1990 she had moved to Los Angeles, starred in multiple HBO comedy specials and appeared on “Saturday Night Live.” Poundstone was the first woman to receive a Cable ACE Award for a comedy special for her one-hour HBO special “Cats, Cops, and Stuff.” She received her second Cable ACE Award for her self-titled HBO talk show series.
 
Continuing with many successes throughout the 1990s, Poundstone starred in “The Paula Poundstone Show” on ABC, appeared in her second one-hour special on HBO titled “Paula Poundstone Goes to Harvard,” and appeared on camera and as the voice of characters in several television shows including: “Cybill,” “Science Court,” “Hercules” and “Home Movies.” In 2007, she appeared in a BRAVO comedy special, “Paula Poundstone: Look What the Cat Dragged In.” Poundstone is the recipient of an Emmy® Award for her field pieces on the PBS program “Life & Times” and most recently appeared in the television documentary “Why We Laugh: Funny Women.”
 
Poundstone is a regular panelist on NPR’s weekly quiz program “Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me,” where her impeccable timing is key to the show’s format. She has written several magazine articles, including five years of writing the back page column in “Mother Jones,” and has authored multiple books, including “There’s Nothing In This Book That I Meant To Say.” Her first comedy CD, “I HEART JOKES: Paula Tells Them In Maine,” is available at www.paulapoundstone.com.

IMPACT WRESTLING will be the first nationally-televised wrestling event from Las Vegas for Orleans Arena; the matches will be recorded to broadcast on Thursday, July 4 and Thursday, July 11 on Spike TV at 9 p.m. PT.
