Chuck Negron, Formerly of Three Dog Night and Blood Sweat & Tears at Cannery Casino June 2

Details

LAS VEGAS - May 4, 2012 - Musicians representing two bands that had an indelible impact on music and culture of the 1960s and 70s will perform at The Club inside The Cannery Casino on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 8 p.m.

Chuck Negron, formerly of Three Dog Night and Blood, Sweat & Tears will perform the hits that made both famous.

Although he received several scholarships to play college basketball, it was music that Chuck Negron truly loved.  By 1967, Negron was a founding member of Three Dog Night which focused on pop/soul vocals, great songs, brilliant musicians and three part harmony.  That combination set the band apart and by 1975 it had sold 50 million records with such hits as “One,” “Shambala,” “Joy to The World,” “Old Fashioned Love Song,” “Mama Told Me Not To Come.”

In 1976, for a number of reasons the band called it quits. At the time, Negron was also in the process of facing some of his own demons.  After several years, and what Negron calls a miracle on September 17, 1991, he says his life was saved. Negron has remained clean and sober ever since.

Blood, Sweat & Tears (BS&T) set the standard by which all other horn bands are judged.  Their impact on the music world began in 1968 and would eventually earn the group multiple Gold albums, 10 Grammy® nominations and a Grammy® award for Album of the Year.

Although there have been many changes to the band’s lineup over the years the band continues its tradition of finding and showcasing the brightest talent from around the world. Whether playing classic BS&T hits or new arrangements of classic songs, fans have showed their approval.  In 2011, BS&T played three sold out concerts at a club in New York City featuring legendary trumpeter Arturo Sandoval.

Fans can expect to hear the hits that made BS&T so well known including “You’ve Made Me So Very Happy,” “Spinning Wheel,” “And When I Die,” “Hi-De-Ho,” “Lucretia Mac Evil,” “Go Down Gamblin,” and many more.
