Join Councilman Wolfson For Fun Family Event At Veterans Memorial Leisure Services Center
Everyone is invited to join Las Vegas Councilman Steve Wolfson for the Trunk or Treat Classic Car Show & Halloween Festival on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Veterans Memorial Leisure Services Center, 101 N. Pavilion Center Drive. The fun begins at 10 a.m. with free admission for festival goers and car show spectators. Families are encouraged to dress in costume to enjoy contests, music, raffles, vendors, carnival booths, face painting, jump houses and to see the amazing cars. Trunk-or-treating will be available outdoors from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the cars.
“I encourage everyone to come to Veterans Memorial Leisure Services Center this Saturday to enjoy a day with their families,” said Councilman Wolfson, who represents this area of Ward 2. “It’s a great opportunity to enjoy traditional Halloween activities at no cost in a safe environment. The children will have fun with all the free indoor festival activities as well as trunk-or-treating at the classic cars. Everyone enjoys seeing the children have such a good time.”
There should be plenty of available free parking and picnic areas for attendees. Alcoholic beverages will not be permitted. There are approximately 50 entries in the car show.
Entry to the car show competition is priced at $35 (cash only) on event day. More than 40 car show awards, including Outstanding Decorated Car, Best Participant Costume and Favorite Tricks or Treats are scheduled to be awarded, beginning at 2:30 p.m. The first 100 car show entries will receive goody bags, a T-shirt, dash plaque and raffle tickets. An area for trailer parking will be reserved during the event. Go to www.lasvegasnevada.gov/trunkortreat for event flier and car show registration form.
