Details

LAS VEGAS – October 8, 2009 – Fremont Street Experience unveils the ultimate Oktoberfest and Halloween combined street party with its first ever “OktoberFrightFest,” a three-week festival October 13-31.

The spook-tacular nightly fun and fantasy kicks off Tuesday, Oct. 13 and continues throughout “Oktober,” ending on Saturday, Oct. 31. Fremont Street Experience will transform itself into the ultimate adult playground with Oktoberfest and Halloween festivities, including a haunted house attraction inside Binion’s Gambling Hall & Hotel, a Viva Vision light and sound show themed to “Time Warp” and “Monster Mash,” seasonal Oktoberfest food & drink specials, plus three free Halloween-themed stage shows never seen before in Las Vegas.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing OktoberFrightFest to downtown Las Vegas so closely after the success of “Summer of ’69,” said Jeff Victor, President of Fremont Street Experience. “Fremont Street Experience will continue to bring thrilling and free entertainment to Las Vegas visitors and residents.”

Jan Rouven, an international master illusionist from Germany, will make his Las Vegas debut by headlining OktoberFrightFest with his dangerous, spectacular and brilliant acts in “Jan Rouven presents Death-Defying Illusions.” Rouven brings thrills and breathtaking risks to Fremont Street Experience with his larger-than-life acts and stage props, including the mind-blowing “Drill of Death.”

Rouven, billed as “The Man With Nine Lives,” has won top awards including the International Magician’s Society “2007 Entertainer of the Year,” an award previously held by magic greats David Copperfield and Siegfried & Roy. Jan Rouven will perform seven days a week at the 1st Street Stage at 8 and 10 p.m. beginning Tuesday Oct. 13 through Saturday, Oct. 31. More information about Jan Rouven can be seen at www.janrouven.com.

“Frank & The Steins” is a live musical revue of classic Halloween songs produced by Face Productions and choreographed by Melden Steele. The cast is comprised of hot ghouls and guys; singers, dancers and live musicians performing songs including “Psycho Killers,” “Spooky,” “Time Warp,” and “Ghostbusters,” that will make audiences dance, laugh, sing and scream. “Frank & The Steins” will perform Tuesdays-Saturdays at the 3rd Street Stage at 8:30, 9:30 and 10:30 p.m.

“Sexy and Dangerous Mario & Jenny,” from NBC’s hit show America’s Got Talent, will also bring their racy and daring act to OktoberFrightFest. Their performance includes acrobatic stunts, dancing and extreme pyrotechnics. Mario & Jenny will perform on the Haunted Bus Stage at Fremont Street Experience Thursdays-Mondays at 8:30, 9:30 and 10:30 p.m.

In addition to all the free entertainment on Fremont Street Experience, FSE member property Binion’s Gambling Hall & Hotel completes OktoberFrightFest with its first ever Downtown Vegas Haunted Casino. The ticketed-admission attraction features three thrilling haunts open 7 p.m.-1 a.m. Oct. 8-10 and Oct. 13-31 (dark Mondays).

“We invite adult Las Vegans and visitors to come downtown to experience the tastes of Oktoberfest and the thrills and chills of Halloween,” Victor said. “And remember, costumes are welcome nightly during these 19 days, so dress up, come downtown and be part of the festive time on Fremont Street Experience.”

Food and drink specials will also be available throughout OktoberFrightFest, including beer specials featuring Blue Moon craft beer -- Blue Moon drafts for $3 and Blue Moon Rising (Blue Moon with a sidecar of Bacardi O) for $4 -- and specialty cocktails by Bacardi -- Bacardi Bat Bit (Bacardi and Cola) for $4 and the Nightmare Margarita (Corzo tequila with pomegranate) for $4.
