Enjoy Folk Dancing On Wednesdays At Charleston Heights Arts Center
Everyone is invited to enjoy folk dancing on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush St. Learn the traditional dances of Europe, Asia, Scandinavia, the Middle East, Greece, the United States and more with the Ethnic Express International Folk Dancers. All ages and experience levels are welcome. Teaching begins at 6:30 p.m. and the dance at 7:15 p.m. Folk dancing is great fun and exercise — a good way to enhance a healthy lifestyle. Tickets are $4 per person, available at the door.
The Ethnic Express International Folk Dancers have been dancing in Las Vegas since 1978. Every week there is teaching, reviewing, request dancing, dance event notifications for Las Vegas and California and socializing as they perform line, circle, couples and mixer-style dances. Beginners, visiting dancers and visiting dance teachers are always welcome; there are no age, expertise, or gender barriers. There are easy dances for beginners and advanced dances for those with more experience. Call 229-6383 for more information.

See more about the artist’s work at www.aimeekoch.com. “Exploring beauty and the signals of body language, the images call attention to the extent that clothing and fashion sway female attitudes and understandings. Fashion tends to treat the body as mere mannequin – it is the clothing rather than the wearing of it that is purportedly significant. But on the runway, only certain bodies appear. The desire becomes not so much to wear the outfits as to accrue the status that beauty and conformity offer — it is to reach for the unattainable body and to punish the inevitable failure to achieve it.” — Aimee Helen Koch
