LAS VEGAS (Sept. 21, 2009) –Next month, Tattoo mogul Mario Barth rocks out Mandalay Bay with his annual 2009 Biggest Tattoo Show on Earth, a convention that will bring a potent mixture of rock, art, entertainment and more to Las Vegas. In true Vegas fashion, this event is easily touted as the world’s largest skin and body modification convention and takes place October 2 - 4 at Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
Superstar Tommy Lee and DJ Aero, DJ Steve Aoki, DJ Scotty Boy and DJ Skribble kick off festivities at the opening VIP party Thursday, Oct. 1, at 9:30 p.m. at Rumjungle inside the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino.
Other notable guests include: Jack Osbourne; Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray); Steve Jones (The Sex Pistols); Billy Morrison (The Cult); Duff McKagen (Guns N’ Roses); Mix Master Mike (The Beastie Boys); Evan Seinfeld (Biohazard); rapper Jim Jones; Sully Erna (Godsmack); Brandon Boyd (Incubus); Billy Duffy (The Cult); Jerry Cantrell (Alice In Chains) and Sean Stewart.
The convention is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the general public to be tattooed by the world’s top artists from around the globe. Industry icons from Japan and Samoa that are otherwise unavailable have been flown in to Las Vegas to work on convention goers. There will also be live performances and musical acts at the expo.
In collaboration with MGM MIRAGE, Mario Barth's "Biggest Tattoo Show on Earth" brings patrons an opportunity to experience the AC/DC "Black Ice" World Tour on Saturday, Oct. 3, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
In addition to the AC/DC concert on Oct. 3, DJ Mix Master Mike will be entertaining Barth’s guests at Rok Nightclub inside New York New York Hotel and Casino. Barth will also co-host Inked magazine’s first annual Inked True Colors Awards on Oct. 3 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino with special musical performance by The Bronx. The convention closing party will take place at The Bank Nightclub inside Bellagio on Sunday, Oct. 4, featuring Dave Navarro, DJ Skribble and DJ Slynkee.
WHAT: Mario Barth’s 2009 Biggest Tattoo Show On Earth with seminars and one-on-one sessions being taught by the businesses’ top ink professionals—including Barth himself—in topics such as business finance, pending legislation, shop design, tattooing techniques, piercing and body modification.
The conference will host celebrity appearances and tattoo contests. Visitors can also join the Intenze Color Lounge for the first-ever pigment exchange program.
WHO: From American industry icons such as Mario Barth, Stanley Moskowitz, Lyle Tuttle, to Japan’s Horitoshi family, to the Borneo Headhunters, Polynesian Sua Petelo family and Peter Sulu Ape —more than 500 of the world’s top artists and vendors are expected to attend this year’s show. Also included in the festivities will be a wide array of celebrities and musical performances, in addition to an appearance from Evan Seinfeld (Biohazard) who will be the celebrity MC during the three day convention.
