LAS VEGAS - For the second consecutive year, the Monte Carlo Pub & Brewery has received status as one of the top five brewpubs in the nation by 'The New Brewer.'

According to a recent issue of the magazine, the Monte Carlo Pub & Brewery produced 3,500 bbls of beer (or 108,500 gallons) in 1999 garnering it third place among 450 competitors. The number reflects a nine percent increase from 1998. In addition, the brewery ranks first in the Las Vegas market.

"We are once again pleased to be recognized by the industry and are proud to rank so high in production among 450 of our peers," said Monte Carlo Pub & Brewery Brewmaster Mark Wilk. "The distinction is reward for our high standards and our attention to customer preferences," he added.

The Monte Carlo Pub & Brewery was the first brewery to come to a mega-resort on the Las Vegas Strip. Six Monte Carlo-labeled beers are produced regularly at the brewery and include "High Roller Red," "Las Vegas Lites," "Silver State Stout," "Winner's Wheat," "Jackpot Pale" and a regular "Brewmaster Special."

The menu at the Pub & Brewery compliments the selection of beers. Guests can enjoy appetizers ranging from stretch shrimp and oysters to entrees such as brick-oven pizzas, salads and the Steak & Stein special - a T-bone steak and a 16-ounce beer for those with a hearty appetite.
