Award-Winning Country Music Star Sara Evans to Perform at The Orleans Showroom July 13-14

Las Vegas—Singer and songwriter Sara Evans will perform her hit country songs at The Orleans Showroom July 13 and 14.
 
Evans debuted in 1997 with “Three Chords and the Truth” and followed-up with her second album “No Place That Far” in 1998. The album’s second single, and title track, gave Evans her first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot Country charts.
 
Her third studio album, “Born to Fly” was released in 2001 and included four hit singles – the title track, “I Could Not Ask For More,” “I Keep Looking” and “Saints & Angels.” That same year, Evans was the most nominated artists at the County Music Association (CMA) awards with seven nominations overall, and she won her first CMA award when “Born to Fly” was named “Video of the Year.”
 
During the next few years, Evan continued to chart top ten hits including “Perfect,” “Suds in the Bucket” and “A Real Fine Place to Start.” In 2006, she was named the “Top Female Vocalist” by the Academy of Country Music.
 
Evans most recent album, “Stronger” was released in 2011 and features the No. 1 hit “A Little Bit Stronger.” She is currently working on her seventh studio album.

Comedienne Paula Poundstone Returns to The Orleans Showroom July 5-6

Las Vegas—Comedienne, writer, actress and author Paula Poundstone is bringing her unique stand-up act back to The Orleans Showroom, July 5 and 6.
 
Poundstone began nurturing her stand-up comedy talent in 1979 on the Boston comedy scene before moving to San Francisco. By 1990 she had moved to Los Angeles, starred in multiple HBO comedy specials and appeared on “Saturday Night Live.” Poundstone was the first woman to receive a Cable ACE Award for a comedy special for her one-hour HBO special “Cats, Cops, and Stuff.” She received her second Cable ACE Award for her self-titled HBO talk show series.
 
Continuing with many successes throughout the 1990s, Poundstone starred in “The Paula Poundstone Show” on ABC, appeared in her second one-hour special on HBO titled “Paula Poundstone Goes to Harvard,” and appeared on camera and as the voice of characters in several television shows including: “Cybill,” “Science Court,” “Hercules” and “Home Movies.” In 2007, she appeared in a BRAVO comedy special, “Paula Poundstone: Look What the Cat Dragged In.” Poundstone is the recipient of an Emmy® Award for her field pieces on the PBS program “Life & Times” and most recently appeared in the television documentary “Why We Laugh: Funny Women.”
 
Poundstone is a regular panelist on NPR’s weekly quiz program “Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me,” where her impeccable timing is key to the show’s format. She has written several magazine articles, including five years of writing the back page column in “Mother Jones,” and has authored multiple books, including “There’s Nothing In This Book That I Meant To Say.” Her first comedy CD, “I HEART JOKES: Paula Tells Them In Maine,” is available at www.paulapoundstone.com.

Hard-hitting Action of TNA IMPACT WRESTLING Invades the Orleans Arena June 29

Las Vegas — Featuring an unforgettable evening of drama, action and excitement, IMPACT WRESTLING comes to Orleans Arena for one night only, Saturday, June 29.  Showtime is 7 p.m PT. IMPACT WRESTLING will be the first nationally-televised wrestling event from Las Vegas for Orleans Arena; the matches will be recorded to broadcast on Thursday, July 4 and Thursday, July 11 on Spike TV at 9 p.m. PT.

Multi-time world champion STING has defeated many stars including Hogan and Kurt Angle. At Slammiversary X, Sting earned TNA’s inaugural Hall of Fame distinction for his loyalty and unmistakable presence in the ring and out.

“MADtv” Alumni and Comedienne Anjelah Johnson to Perform at The Orleans Showroom June 28 and 29

Las Vegas—Comedienne, actress and Internet sensation Anjelah Johnson brings her stand-up act to The Orleans Showroom June 28 and 29.
 
Johnson’s viral video “Nail Salon” skyrocketed her into online stardom around the same time she earned a recurring role on the sketch comedy series “MADtv” in 2007 and 2008. Her infamous “MADtv” character “Bon Qui Qui,” a disgruntled fast food employee with no filter, received worldwide success and has been watched by more than 55 million YouTube viewers.
 
Johnson hosted a one-hour Comedy Central special, “Anjelah Johnson: That’s How We Do It” in 2009. A second special will be released from her hometown of San Jose, Calif. later this year.
 
As an actress Johnson has starred in, and lent her voice to, numerous films including “The Box,” “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel,” “Marmaduke” and “Our Family Wedding.” On the small screen, Johnson has guest starred on “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “On the Up” and “Ugly Betty.” 
 
Johnson began her career as a professional cheerleader for the Oakland Raiders. As an Oakland Raiderette, she was named Rookie of the Year in 2002 and performed in Super Bowl XXXVII. She credits cheering on the Raiders for helping her make the transition to stand-up comedy.

“Dancing With The Stars” Alum D.L. Hughley Brings His Comedy Routine to The Orleans Showroom June 14-15

Las Vegas—Comedian, actor, writer and radio personality D.L. Hughley will bring his popular standup act to The Orleans Showroom, June 14 and 15.
 
Hughley, well-known for his role in the film “The Original Kings of Comedy,” has entertained millions over the course of his career, with appearances on daytime, prime-time and late-night television, as well as film and radio. He was most recently seen on the 16th season of the ABC hit “Dancing with the Stars” alongside dancing partner Cheryl Burke.
 
On television, Hughley was the producer and star of “The Hughleys,” which ran on ABC and UPN from 1998 through 2002, and was also a series regular on NBC’s “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.” He has appeared on HBO’s “Def Comedy Jam,” BET’s “S.O.B.: Socially Offensive Behavior” and has filmed several comedy specials, including “D.L. Hughley: Goin’ Home,” “D.L. Hughley Live,” “Shocked & Appalled” and the HBO special “D.L. Hughley: Unapologetic.”
 
Additional television and film credits include “Inspector Gadget,” “Scrubs,” “Scary Movie 3,” “Soul Plane,” “Hawaii Five-O” and “Glory Daze.” Last July his one-hour special, “Reset,” premiered on Showtime and later this year Hughley will co-host a new game show on TBS, “ Trust Me, I’m a Game Show Host.”
 
On radio, he is currently a weekly contributor to the nationally syndicated program, “The Tom Joyner Morning Show.”
 
Last August, he released his first humorous book, “I Want You to Shut the F--- Up: How the Audacity of Dopes is Ruining America.”
