Details

Las Vegas, Nevada (June 6, 2000) -- In a Ruling filed June 1, the Nevada Supreme Court has denied a stay pending appeal requested by the Rosewood GiIle Restaurant.

Earlier, Rosewood's attorneys had urged the Supreme Court to issue a stay on the pedestrian bridge construction project that would span Las Vegas Boulevard linking The Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino with the Mirage and Treasure Island.

"We fully accept the Supreme Court's ruling in this matter and applaud their efforts to weigh both sides of the issue," said David Friedman, Assistant to the Chairman of the Board of Las Vegas Sands, Inc, "We are encouraged that we can now construct a much-needed bridge that will help all businesses in the vicinity," Friedman added.

Previously, the restaurant had unsuccessfully appealed a Clark County District Court's decision which upheld the Clark County Commission's approval of the bridge project.

Las Vegas Sands, Inc. is a privately-held company whose holdings include The Venetian Casino Resort, LLC, a Nevada limited liability company, and Grand Canal Shops Mall, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company.
