LAS VEGAS (Oct. 16, 2012) - For a very limited time - from now until the end of January - Martin Lawrence Galleries is offering its exclusive collection of contemporary works of fine art at the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian Hotel and Casino.

Just in time for all your holiday shopping, and on the heels of the overwhelming success of its flagship 26,000 square-foot location inside The Forum Shops at Caesars, Martin Lawrence Galleries has opened a seasonal gallery at the site of the former Jack Gallery near the Palazzo Hotel.

The four-month, pop-up gallery offers 5,000 square-feet of awe-inspiring art including original and graphic works by Picasso, Chagall, Warhol, Miro, Murakami, Kondakova, Erte, Bertho, Mas, Deyber, Fressinier, Hofmann, Kostabi, Hallam, Lalonde and more. Of course, the new pop-up gallery also has access to the extensive collection of works owned by Martin Lawrence Galleries.

Plugged In: The Venetian Installs Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment

Las Vegas - September 14th, 2012. As part of our company's environmental efforts we've installed electric car charging stations.

Stan Hanel, who's worked in the electronics industry for more than 30 years and is a long-time member of the Electric Auto Association and the Las Vegas Electric Vehicle Association, published a fantastic article today about The Venetian's electric vehicle charging stations. The full article can be read at the Las Vegas Review Journal, but here's an excerpt:

The Venetian is the latest hotel-casino in Las Vegas to add electric vehicle supply equipment to its parking facility. It will provide free electrons to drivers of electric cars to refuel their battery packs while visiting the Grand Canal Shoppes.

The charging equipment is on the sixth floor of the self-parking garage near the elevators. The two stations can be used to recharge the Chevrolet Volt, Nissan Leaf, Mitsubishi i, Fisker Karma, Toyota Prius PHV, Ford Focus EV, CODA sedan or any other plug-in electric vehicles that use the automotive industry's standard connectors. The charging stations are rated at AC Level 2, which means they can supply 240 volts of current to charge these vehicles in three to six hours, depending on battery-pack size.

This installation complements three Tesla Motors' high-power charging stations that have been at the valet parking garage of the Palazzo for more than a year, to provide free electrons to owners of the Tesla Roadster and now the 2012 Model S.

"The Venetian and the Palazzo have made alternate transportation a priority because we want to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, conserve natural resources and lessen dependence on traditional automobiles," said Rishi Tirupari, sustainability project manager for both properties.

The Venetian and The Palazzo Las Vegas Host “2009 Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant of the Americas®”

Las Vegas - The Venetian and The Palazzo Las Vegas welcome the “2009 Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant of the Americas” on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 8 p.m. The pageant will initially air on Phoenix Satellite Television throughout North America and South America then extended to Phoenix TV’s worldwide audience. Showcasing their beauty, compassion, vigor, fortitude, and intelligence, the 16 contestants will vie for the ‘Americas’ title to go on and compete in October 2009 for the worldwide competition of the “2009 Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant.”
The 2009 pageant marks a special year for the Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant of the Americas as the competition reflects on love. The Venetian, which embraces the charm, excitement, passion and romance of Italy, complimented with its luxurious sister property, The Palazzo, provides the perfect setting for the pageant to take place.
