Tickets On Sale Now for Cher at The Colosseum and Bette Midler's The Showgirl Must Go On Through the End of 2009 Las Vegas, Nev. - April 22nd, 2009 - Acclaimed singer, songwriter and performer, Elton John takes final bow at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace for his final performance of his hit show "The Red Piano." "The Red Piano" debuted on February 13th of 2004, and was originally booked for 75 shows over three years. Responding to overwhelming demand, the resort accelerated the number of shows presented each year, completing the original commitment in only 18 months. During this time Caesars Palace extended the agreement for an additional 166 shows for a final engagement total of 241. This evening Elton opened with the song "Bennie and the Jets" and said to the audience, "Tonight is the last performance at Caesars Palace of "The Red Piano" after five years of great fun, and really happy memories." Elton continued by saying, "The problem is now who you gonna get to fill in our shows? Now Celine's gone, and I'm gone. You've got Bette Midler and Cher it'll be the Village People next." To create a one-of-a-kind atmosphere in The Colosseum, renowned photographer/director David LaChappelle serves as the production designer and director for "The Red Piano." LaChappelle blends Elton's spectacular music with vibrant visual imagery making these Colosseum engagements unlike any other Elton John performance. Cher Cher at The Colosseum is a high-energy, concert-style show that features the artist's record-breaking hits, including "If I Could Turn Back Time," "Believe" and "Strong Enough". With her infamous rock-and-roll attitude and flare for theatrics, the show treats guests to an intimate look back through Cher's iconic career, with vintage footage of rarely seen "Sonny and Cher" clips and an ever changing stage that adapts to each song.
