ROCK X-POSED PHOTO GALLERY MOVES TO RIO S MASQUERADE VILLAGE

Details
More Than 500 Photos Documenting Rock History are Open to the Public

LAS VEGAS, NEV Aug.12, 2003 - The Rock X-Posed Tour of The Kodak Rock Photography Collection has a new home on the second floor of the Masquerade Village at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino near Rosemary s. Featured through end of 2003, the gallery displays a large collection of Rock n Roll photographs, reflecting the work of hundreds of photographers.

Admission to the Rock X-Posed gallery is $10 a person and available in the Rock X-Posed retail shop. The exhibit is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.

The landmark exhibit features more than 500 original photographs, capturing unique posed and unposed glimpses into rock n roll s colorful and often volatile past. Such rock legends as Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Mick Jagger, Tina Turner, Madonna, Michael Jackson, George Clinton, Jimi Hendrix, Bruce Springsteen and Lou Reed are featured as well as contemporary artists, such as Bjork, Lenny Kravitz, Tori Amos and Beck.

Virtually all artists define themselves as much by the way they look as by the music they play. The Rock X-Posed exhibition captures that Rock n Roll image by spanning five decades of rock attitude in pictures spanning the 50s through the present. There are posed portraits, live shots and candid behind the scenes glances of virtually every major musical act as captured by more than 130 international photographers including David Lachapelle, Mick Hutson and Rankin.

When you see all 500 shots, each capturing a piece of history, it really is astounding, said Max Brown of Rock Shutter Productions, Curator of the Collection. I think that all those that view the Collection will be delighted, as there is something for everyone. These iconic photographs are also offered for sale to the public in limited edition prints of 500. Each print is numbered and signed by the photographer or bear a deceased photographers estate/archive seal, in addition to the seal of The Kodak Rock Photography Collection.
