Join Councilman Ricki Y. Barlow In Lorenzi Park Friday, Dec. 17
The community is invited to join Las Vegas City Councilman Ricki Y. Barlow in Lorenzi Park on Friday, Dec. 17, for the second annual Ward 5 Holiday Tree Lighting and Movie in the Park. Handmade ornaments on the tree will be provided by children from Ward 5 elementary schools. Lift your holiday spirits by singing with picture-perfect carolers and enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride after the 20-foot tree is lit at 5 p.m. Then walk over to Sammy Davis Jr. Festival Plaza in the park to watch “Christmas with the Kranks,” which begins at 6 p.m. Admission is free.
“I encourage everyone to bundle up the entire family and join me in Lorenzi Park for a community holiday celebration,” said Councilman Barlow. “Renewing relationships with friends and neighbors helps everyone to enjoy the holiday season.”
Lorenzi Park is located at 3333 W. Washington Ave. The holiday tree is located near the park’s main entrance off Washington Avenue. Participants are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket to be more comfortable during the movie. Hot cocoa, cookies, popcorn and cotton candy will be provided during the movie, while supplies last. For more information, call 229-1771.
