Premium build-your-own burger bar specializes in savory creations

LAS VEGAS – September 3, 2009 – Well-known Las Vegas restaurateur, Mark DiMartino, along with business partner and successful real estate developer, Barry Fieldman, to launch DiMartino’s newest concept, Grind Burger Bar & Lounge, on September 25. The premium build-your-own burger restaurant will be located at 360 E. Tropicana Avenue (between Paradise Road and Koval Lane, within the Bluegreen timeshare complex). Grind will be open daily for lunch, dinner and late night.

Grind Burger Bar & Lounge will specialize in serving fully-customizable, outrageously appetizing, juicy burgers using hand-pressed meats and fresh, quality ingredients. In addition to premium cuts of fresh ground chuck, Grind will also offer hand-pressed turkey and meatless burgers, fresh chicken breast, three varieties of freshly-baked buns, premium cheeses, 20 premium toppings including grilled asparagus, fried egg and Sicilian olive salad, and 20 homemade specialty sauces that range from wasabi mayonnaise and San Marzano tomato salsa to cayenne pepper ranch dressing.

Grind will offer its patrons an intimate, casual dining experience with more than 3,000 square feet and a seating capacity of up to 90 patrons. Featuring an innovative, industrial design, Grind’s décor is reminiscent of the 1940s and includes exposed brickwork, stainless steel fixtures, industrial-style lighting, grey powder coated metal chairs and bases with dark-stained metal tops. Additional features include a modern bar with granite countertops and 15 barstools.

“The concept behind Grind Burger Bar & Lounge is to allow guests to have fun, be creative and to create the custom burger of their dreams,” said DiMartino. “We pride ourselves in offering a quality product using the freshest, most unique ingredients. In fact, the combinations of ingredients are virtually endless. Although you can’t go wrong with our traditional American cheeseburger – it’s a timeless classic, just like a pair of Chuck Taylor sneakers, Levi’s and a plain white T-shirt – my recommendation is the turkey burger
with provolone cheese, ajvar (pureed roasted eggplant and peppers), mayonnaise, sautéed spinach and garlic on a wheat bun.”

Not a meat lover? In addition to a meatless burger made with chickpeas and Mediterranean spices, Grind also offers a vegetarian chopped salad made with fresh veggies, a Caprese sandwich with fresh mozzarella and tomatoes, and Gracie’s Favorite, a portabella mushroom sandwich with grilled zucchini, roasted red peppers, basil pesto and a toasted portabella mushroom cap bun.

Grind’s menu also includes three styles of potatoes, delicious appetizers like Thai Calamari and Mozzarella Tempura, fresh chopped salads, and a variety of specialty sandwiches in addition to classic milk shakes and a wide selection of beers, wines and cocktails. Save room for dessert, because Grind’s Vanilla Ice Cream Sliders featuring house-made pastry shells filled with vanilla ice cream and topped with hot fudge sauce are the perfect compliment to its savory burgers.

Mark DiMartino got his start in the family restaurant business more than 30 years ago when his family opened DiMartino’s Deli on Maryland Parkway in 1974. Transforming the deli into DiMartino’s, a traditional Italian fine dining restaurant, he relocated to the Tropicana Resort & Casino in 1989 and the eatery became the first independently owned restaurant on the Las Vegas Strip. A recipient of the Nevada Restaurant Association’s highest award, the 2000 Nevada Restaurateur Award, DiMartino has also owned The Tillerman and was the founder of the Tilted Kilt concept inside the Rio All Suites Hotel & Casino.
