Dan Scott is an artist and art professor at Boise State University in Boise, Idaho. New work by the artist explores the traditional still-life genre. He believes that still life can tell us a story of the life we have or wished we had. Through the painted objects, he takes the familiar and breaks it out of any association with the mundane. The work holds the viewer’s attention through a complex dialog that is given meaning by the artist’s pictorial arrangement of objects, title and juxtaposition. Call (702) 229-1012 or go online to www.artslasvegas.org for more information on gallery exhibits.
