Tesla Motor’s electric Roadster re-charges at Rampart Casino’s electric vehicle charging station
LAS VEGAS – July 30, 2009 – The Rampart Casino welcomed the brand new Tesla Motor’s electric Roadster on Tuesday, July 28 as part of the coast-to-coast green charity initiative Renew America Roadtrip. The Roadster, driven by co-founder of Renew America Roadtrip Michael Craner, started out across the country on July 15 in New York, stopping to recharge at Rampart Casino’s brand new electric vehicle (EV) charging station. The EV charging system was installed this past May by EV-Charge America, making Rampart the first casino worldwide to feature the high-tech electric vehicle technology.
Renew America Roadtrip was created in conjunction with President Obama’s “Renew America Together” plan and was designed to help raise awareness of renewable, sustainable, and eco-friendly (RSE) initiatives. The coast-to-coast drive-a-thon also raised money for green charities across the country. Craner plans to arrive at his final destination in San Francisco, CA on July 31.
