Free Workshops Feb. 20 And March 20 At City Of Las Vegas Community Centers
The city of Las Vegas invites all Clark County high school students and their parents to a free college preparation workshop. “College: The Real Life” will give students and their parents a real-life perspective of obstacles they will face while preparing for college, as well as what to expect once they become college students. Presentations will include information on testing/admission exams, financial aid, life skills, college life, credit and money management, and parent information.
The first workshop will be held on Saturday, Feb. 20, at Mirabelli Community Center. The center is located at 6200 Hargrove Ave., near U.S. 95 and Jones Boulevard. For directions to the center, call (702) 229-6359. The second workshop will be held on Saturday, March 20, at Doolittle Community Center, 1950 N. J St. For directions to Doolittle, call 229-6374.
The workshops will take place from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m. Refreshments will be served. Registration forms are available at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/files/College_Real_Life_Flier_and_Registration_2010.pdf online, at the center, or by calling (702) 229-1100. Students may pre-register or register at the event.
