Details

Fifth Annual 'Girl’s Night Out' Event to Take Place May 2 = Tickets Now on Sale

LAS VEGAS, Nev., April 12, 2007 - Friends of The Shade Tree Shelter (FOST) have announced that tickets are available to one of Las Vegas’ premiere social events of the year, "Girl’s Night Out" in support of The Shade Tree Shelter for women and children. Tickets for the event are $200 if purchased in advance, $225 at the door, and table sponsorships are also available, all by going to www.friendsoftheshadetree.org or by calling (702) 391-3742.

"Girl’s Night Out" will take place Wednesday, May 2, at the exclusive Jet Nightclub in the Mirage Hotel and Casino with entertainment from a talented lineup of performers plus an exciting auction featuring designer handbags. Last year’s event raised $100,000, with $400,000 having been donated directly to Shade Tree Shelter programs since FOST’s inception in 2003. This year’s event marks an important milestone for the group as all monies raised will be matched by a generous private donor and added to The Shade Tree Shelter’s Hope Center Building Fund.

Now in it fifth consecutive year, FOST’s "Girls Night Out" event invites the women of Las Vegas to enjoy an evening together while helping to affect change in our community. FOST membership is comprised of women from the Las Vegas Valley, whose singular mission is to support Shade Tree’s efforts to help its residents -- homeless and abused women and children -- to find a fresh start.

"We are so fortunate to have such an enthusiastic group of women as our friends and supporters," said Brenda Dizon, executive director of The Shade Tree. "The money they raise helps the most vulnerable women and children in our community get back on their feet and start new lives."

"I really encourage women to come out in support of The Shade Tree Shelter by attending this year’s ‘Girls Night Out,’" said Shawn Meinhardt, president of FOST. "Not only will everyone enjoy a fabulous evening at Jet, but they’ll be assisting homeless and physically abused women and children in crisis == this is a win-win for everyone."

Those interested in learning more about FOST can do so by visiting www.friendsoftheshadetree.org or by calling (702) 391-3742.
