GLENDALE, NEVADA'S HALLOWEEN SCARY CORN MAZE OPENS FRIDAY THE 13TH

Details

GLENDALE, NV - Clark County's largest Halloween celebration featuring the Broken Spoke Saloon insignia on a 20-acre haunted corn maze opens Friday the 13th and will culminate with a barbeque and entertainment by the country music band Marshall Reign from 4-10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2 to honor Nevada Day.

The big news is that the ground-breaking for a community of affordable homes is only two years off. Glendale's beautiful hilly desert landscape will attract those who want that lifestyle. There will be new homes, a hospital, shopping centers and a school. The clean air and blue skies will help lure families to the growing community.

This is the third year that the annual Halloween event will take place. In front of the cornfield are a gas station, convenience store, coffee shop and tavern called the Broken Spoke Saloon. The idea is to try and find the center of the maze and then to get back out again on foot. If you fly over it you will see the words "Broken Spoke Saloon." For further information call Beverly Madewell at (702) 864-2277. Group discounts are available.

The ghosts and goblins will haunt the attraction for the last three weekends of October from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturdays. The attraction will run thru Saturday, Oct. 28. Weekdays are by appointment only while Sundays are closed. See the web site at www.GLENDALECORNMAZE.com. Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for children from 5-11 and children under 5 are free. There is a $1.00 off coupon on the web site for children who are accompanied by an adult. Norbert and Randy Aleman came up with the Halloween idea.

The community project is the brainchild of Wes Adam, Todd Larkin along with Norbert and Randy Aleman. The housing developments on the drawing boards will be marketed to the middle-class and those who want to pay affordable housing prices that existed four years ago in Las Vegas before the inflation boom.

The 20-acre corn maze will baffle anyone who sees it from the air. This is an art form developed in the Midwest and will be an amazing site from the air. The corn field is four acres by five acres.

Glendale is a work in progress and the birth of a community with plenty of water and land for housing and business development. There are people who commute from St. George, Utah to Las Vegas because of the price of housing. Glendale is only half that distance.

Admission is $10 for those who are over 11 years old and kids under age 12 are $7. Children under age 5 are free with each paid adult admission. It's a 35-minute drive north of North Las Vegas off of I-15. There is plenty of parking. This is the third year that the event is taking place. With each ticket purchased one gets a free glow stick while the supply lasts.
