Senior Juried Fine Art Competition Winners On Display Through July 1
The winners of the “Celebrating Life! 2010” juried fine art competition will be on display at the Charleston Heights Arts Center through July 1. Additional entries may be viewed in the Salon de Refusés, located inside the gallery at Charleston Heights Art Center, through June 10. Admission is free. Center hours are Tuesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at 800 S. This is the 10th year for this popular fine art competition, which is open to all Clark County artists age 50 or older. Sixty-nine artworks were selected for the juried exhibit out of the record-breaking 220 works entered this year.
At the May 21 awards ceremony held at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, 25 works of art in six media categories were
presented. Each media category was judged and awarded separately, with $250 for first place, $150 for second, $100 for third and a plaque for honorable mention. Peter Justl’s piece, “Marché Bacchus-Behind the Scenes,” received the Best of Show Award of $500. Other winners include:
