West Las Vegas Library Theatre To Host Free Youth Performance Honoring

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. And Other Leaders
Everyone is invited to the Peace Week 2012 “Living the Dream” Young Choreographer’s Showcase featuring city of Las Vegas Youth Council members and Trinity Dance Academy members on Sunday, Jan. 15, at the West Las Vegas Library Theatre. Admission is free. The performance showcase is appropriate for all ages, but parking and seating are limited. Doors will open at 2 p.m. for seating and a video presentation of famous speeches by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The showcase is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. The theatre is located at 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd., inside the West Las Vegas Library.
Special guest choreographer Monica Armstrong of the Trinity Dance Academy will direct a tribute to celebrate the life, legacy and contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This musical tribute also will honor and recognize the service of young adult leaders in the community whose contributions continue the legacy of Dr. King. Featuring traditional and urban contemporary gospel music, the event is presented by the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Committee, the city of Las Vegas, the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District, West Las Vegas Library and the Trinity Dance Academy.
