Family Show Offered Feb. 17-19 At Historic Fifth Street School In Downtown Las Vegas
The Rainbow Company Youth Theatre will present “Uncovering Nevada’s Past” Feb. 17-19 at the Historic Fifth Street School, located at 401 S. Fourth St. in downtown Las Vegas.
A new chapter in Nevada’s history is brought to the stage every year by Rainbow Company, overflowing with colorful characters and captivating music. The whole family will love it, as well as the opportunity to enjoy the ambience of the town’s restored 1936 grammar school, one of Las Vegas’ historical landmarks. Showtimes are 7 p.m. Feb. 17-18, and 2 p.m. Feb. 18-19. Ticket prices are $7 for adults, $5 for teens/seniors/military, and $3 for children age 12 and younger. Rainbow Company Artistic Director Karen McKenney directs the show’s five seasoned actors — Michael Connolly, Kearsten Kuroishi, J Neal, Josh Stackhouse and Martha Watson. Original music and lyrics were composed by Rainbow Company’s Theatre Program Specialist J Neal.
The nationally recognized Rainbow Company Youth Theatre, a program of the city of Las Vegas, offers affordable drama classes for ages 4 through 18 at Charleston Heights Arts Center. Enrollment begins March 19 for class sessions that begin April 14. Registration is open now for a spring break drama workshop offered April 2-6, for grades 2 through 6. This past summer, a newly introduced drama conservatory for ages 8 to 11 and ages 12 to 16 proved to be popular and will be offered again this coming summer.
