City Of Las Vegas March Senior Special Events
Las Vegas Residents Invited To Celebrations, Luncheons & Activities At City Centers
 
The city of Las Vegas active adult and senior centers offer exercise, fitness, craft, arts, dance, music and computer classes; cards; games; discussion and social groups; luncheons; sports; and special events Monday through Friday to residents age 50 and better. Many of these activities contribute to wellness and a healthy lifestyle. A listing of classes and activities is published in the Beyond the Neon Leisure Guide, available in the centers and online at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/Find/recreation.htm. All activities are subject to change. Most activities require $2 annual membership to city of Las Vegas Senior Citizen Programs, available at all senior and active adult centers.
 
Free AARP Tax Form Preparation Assistance (ages 50+)
Mondays and Thursdays, through April 9. Appointment required.

Butterfly Breakfast (ages 50+)
Thursday, March 1, 10 a.m. Advance registration required.
Cost: $3.
East Las Vegas Community/Senior Center, 250 N. Eastern Ave., (702) 229-1515.
Come for a marvelous breakfast and learn about the beautiful butterfly. Participate in the starting of a live butterfly habitat where seniors will raise caterpillars into butterflies and then release them outdoors.

Free Vision Forum (all ages)
Thursday, March 8, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Free admission. Open to the public.

This one-day forum is filled with a variety of workshops to assist the visually impaired.  You will be able to select from several workshops and visit vendors who specialize in assistance and equipment for the visually impaired. Call 229-6454 for information and to register.
 
Springtime Tea Party (ages 50+)

Senior Idol Talent Showcase Auditions (ages 50+)
Applications are available beginning March 26 at the front desk of the Las Vegas Senior Center.
Auditions will take place Wednesday-Thursday, May 9-10, by appointment only.
No cost to audition or perform in the Senior Idol Talent Showcase.

If you have a talent in singing, dancing, comedy, group or individual, we want you to try out for the Senior Idol Talent Showcase! Applications for group or individual acts must be turned in no later than Friday, April 27.  The showcase will be performed Thursday, June 14, at the Charleston Heights Arts Center.
