Family Drama At Charleston Heights Arts Center June 4-13
The Rainbow Company Youth Theatre will present “Jack and the Beanstalk” June 4-13 at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, located at 800 S. Brush St. Appropriate for the entire family, the play follows Jack’s daring climb to the clouds in pursuit of a bright future. The fun and suspense begin as our hero outwits the socially challenged giant. Presented in a highly theatrical, stylized fashion, all ages will be tickled by the witty dialogue and entertaining antics in this ingenious retelling of a favorite folktale. Show times are 7 p.m. June 4, 5, 10, 11 and 12; and 2 p.m. June 6, 12 and 13. Tickets are priced at $3 for children age 12 and younger, $5 for teens and seniors, and $7 for adults. Toni Molloy-Tudor directs a cast of 19 in this drama that features Lucas Reilly as Jack, Nancy Marcellus as his mother, Ken Kucan as the giant and Michaela Geldmacher as the cook. The set was designed by Kris Van Riper.
The nationally recognized Rainbow Company Youth Theatre holds auditions open to both adults and young people throughout the year. The award-winning staff offers classes in all aspects of theatre for ages 4 through high school at Reed Whipple Cultural Center and Charleston Heights Arts Center, and presents five productions annually that bring the magic of live theatre to family audiences.
