Las Vegas Residents Invited To Celebrations, Luncheons & Activities At City Centers
The city of Las Vegas active adult and senior centers offer exercise, fitness, craft, arts, dance, music and computer classes; cards; games; discussion and social groups; luncheons; outings; sports; and special events Monday through Friday to residents age 50 and better. A listing of classes and activities is published quarterly in the Las Vegas Active Adult, available in the centers and online at www.lasvegasparksandrec.com. All activities are subject to change. Most activities require $2 annual membership to city of Las Vegas Senior Citizen Programs.
Shred It Day (ages 50+)
Friday, March 5, 2 to 3 p.m. and Monday, March 22, 10 to 11 a.m.

Twice a month, seniors can bring all of their papers that need to be shredded (rather than just thrown in the garbage), and have them shredded. This will help prevent identity theft. No advance registration required.

Fourth Annual Diggy Awards Digital Photo Contest (ages 50+)
Monday, March 22, 1 to 3 p.m.
Fee: $2 per contest entry; free for spectators

The winner in each of 10 categories — landscape, nature, people, black and white, PhotoShop, architecture, humor, wildlife, travel and action — will receive a Diggy Award. The public is invited to meet the photographers, view the entries and witness the awards presentations. All contest entries must be received at the center by March 15. Contact the center for contest rules and entry forms. Entries will be judged by a panel of local artists and professional photographers.
Free National Letting Go of Stuff Day (ages 50+)
