“Legendary Ladies of Country Music” Starring Joni Morris Feb. 27 At Charleston Heights
Residents are invited to enjoy a performance by Joni Morris and her After Midnight Band as they present the tribute show, “Legendary Ladies of Country Music,” on Saturday, Feb. 27, at 2 p.m. at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush St. Morris will sing songs made famous by Patsy Cline (“Crazy”), Kitty Wells (“Honky Tonk Angels”), Loretta Lynn (“You Ain’t Woman Enough To Take My Man”), Tammy Wynette (“Stand By Your Man”) and many more classic hits. Morris and her band have toured nationally for 15 years, sharing the stage with such renowned entertainers as The Gatlin Brothers, Glen Campbell, Highway 101, Neal McCoy, Janie Fricke, Ty Herndon and The Jordanaires. Morris has recorded several CDs, some of which include songs she has written. Known for her extraordinary voice and ability to quickly develop a close bond with audiences, she includes comedy, costumes changes and some of her own original music in every show.

Catch the Ethnic Express for an international evening of fun! Dances include Armenian, Bulgarian, Chinese, Greek, Russian, Serbian and Turkish, to name a few.
Scottish Country Dancing (ages 13+)
Friday, Feb. 26, 6:30 to 8:45 p.m.
Cost: $5 general admission, $4 for Southern Nevada Old Time Contra Dancers members.

Cosponsored by Southern Nevada Old-Time Contra Dancers, the National Folk Organization, and the city of Las Vegas. Classes begins promptly at 6:30 p.m. and run until 8:45 p.m. This class is recommended for ages 13 and up. It is not suitable for younger children unless they have previous dance experience. Scottish Country Dancing is the beautiful “ballroom” dance of Scotland. The dances may be lively and joyful or gentle and graceful. From the first chord to the final bow or curtsey, dancers are inspired by the driving reels, jaunty jigs, snappy strathspeys or lilting slow airs. And thanks to the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society, any dancer can be welcomed by a local group almost anywhere in the world.
African Drum and Dance Workshops (ages 10+)
Saturday, Feb. 27, noon to 2:30 p.m.
Master African Drum Class noon to 1 p.m.; Master African Dance Class 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Arthur Moore and Keith Williams both teach at Washington University and are master
students of the late world-renowned dancer, anthropologist and author Katherine Dunham. Both have worked with theatrical companies, such as the St. Louis Black Repertory Theatre, Lula Washington and Chuck Davis Dance Company. Call 229-4800 to register for each class.
