“Opera and The Masterpieces”

A lovely afternoon was experienced by patrons and guests of the Nevada Opera Theatre Association. (NOT) The event was called “Opera and The Masterpieces” and was held at the Centaur Art Gallery where both Opera and magnificent art were enjoyed. Upon entering this amazing gallery guests mingled and toured a Champagne Gallery Walk. A beautiful Silent Auction was also viewed and bid on. Guests were then seated at decorative tables for a catered Soiree.

Welcoming introductions were given by Eileen Hayes, Founder/General Director of NOT and Denise Wilbourne, event Chairperson.

Acknowledgments of NOT’s Board and mission were discussed. Honorees, Richard Perry owner of Centaur Art Gallery (4345 Dean Martin Drive) and Dr. Laurence Shiff of Kingman, Arizona were saluted and given the Patron of the Arts Awards.

An Opera Concert ensued with Maestro Frank Fetta, conducting and narrating the story of each selection.

Some of the concert program by soloists and full company included: Turandot Nessum Dorma. Don Giovanni, Carmen (Habanera and Toreador), O sole mio, Funiculi Funicula, Marriage of Figaro and a duet of The Prayer. Each soloist had an opportunity to act out their role and to interact with the audience which made for a very interesting and beautiful concert.

NOT Soloists were: Erin Gonzales, Mezzo- Soprano, Dr. Morton I. Hyson, Bass, Ben Litvanoff, tenor, Sheronda McKee, Soprano, Stephen Plummer, Tenor, Lance Taubold, Tennor, Carrie Wachberger, Soprano and Ulysses Borgia, Baritone.

A live auction was presented by Denny Weddle and guests were very charitable.

A magnificent South Seas White Pearl Necklace with diamond detachable tassels and a 14k gold and diamond clasp donated by Sigrid Insuli Designs - $4,000

Two Framed Paintings of The Playboy Suite donated by Centaur Art Galleries, Richard Perry - $8,000

A LeRoy Neiman framed Paris Opera donated by Richard Perry - $2,000

Cindy Dumani and Dondino spoke about Dondino’s CD “Just Like That.” The musical CD about Cindy’s life as a Cowgirl to a Showgirl. The donated CD was auctioned off at $100.

Many prominent and well-known guests were recognized.
