OF THE IDF (FIDF) 8th LAS VEGAS ANNUAL TRIBUTE DINNER

A captivating evening for the
8th Annual FRIENDS OF ISRAELI DEFENSE FORCES (FIDF) 2018
Tribute Dinner was held in the San Polo Ballroom at The Venetian.

Lombardo, Noam, Traci Grossman & Ian Staller
The event “Saluting Israel
1948-2018 - 70 years of Heroes and Hope” was co-chaired by Dana and Michael
Werner and Traci Grossman, M.D. and Ian Staller.
The Honoree was Sheriff Joseph
Friends of Israel Defense
Forces (FIDF) help support educational, social, cultural and
recreational programs and facilities for the heroic men and women of the IDF.
These opportunities reinforce the vital bond between the communities in the
United States, the soldiers of the IDF, and the State of Israel. FIDF also
supports the families of fallen soldiers. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) job
is to look after Israel and the FIDF job is to look after them.
The event started in the outer
Ballroom where guests mingled and enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.

Afterwards guests were seated for dinner, program
and entertainment. The LVMPD Honor Guard and members of the IDF musical
ensemble entered stagewise. Renowned singer
Joanna Petri sang both the “Israeli National
Anthem” (Hatikva) and “U.S. Star Spangled Banner”

The fantastic IDF Musical Ensemble then sang and
danced a special 70 Years of Music Tribute.
The program began with
Werner and Traci Grossman welcoming remarks and thanking
everyone for attending. They asked everyone to stand and the room was silent
for 11 minutes to honor the 11 victims of the shooting that took place in The
Life Synogogue in Pittsburgh.

Dana said we must stand with
Israel’s brave men and women in uniform. While they stand guard over the
Jewish homeland, and Jews everywhere, it is our job to do everything we can to
support them. Dana mentioned many of
the distinguished guests who had come from far and near for this special event
such as: FIDF National Director and CEO – Major General Meir Klifi-Amir and
FIDF National President Bobby Cohen and Dana also thanked Dr. Miriam and
Sheldon Adelson for sponsoring 60 young leaders to attend the event.

Dana’s adorable 11 year old grandson Benjamin Herschmann came onstage and expressively spoke about
Israel. Dana thanked him and also
gave a personal very special thank you to her husband Michael Werner and Co-
Chairs Dr. Traci Grossman and husband Ian Staller.

The program continued with
David Z.Chesnoff, Esq. introduced the
distinguished Honoree of the event Sheriff Joseph M. Lombardo
David Chesnoff has been praticing
criminal law in Las Vegas for the last 37 years. He has built a national practice representing high-profile clients
from the business and entertainment industries, nationally and
internationally. David spoke of his love for Israel and about Sheriff Lombardo

Lombardo came onstage for his remarks and acceptance speech which were both
very impressive and extremely interesting.
Dinner was next on the program
and the HAMOTZI (blessing the meal) was by Dr. Arthur Shapiro.

During dinner, videos were
shown across the entire front of the Ballroom showing some of the IDF soldiers conflicts both amazing and sorrowful.

The program continued with an
IDF soldier who spoke about how the FIDF helps IDF.
A former officer in the IDF
Paramedic Corp. Noam spoke about her experiences with the paramedics, while
showing backdrop videos.
A surprise occurred when a
former IDF soldier who now lives in Las Vegas was called onstage. M.C. Jerome
Blut asked him to face forward away from the
audience for a few moments and then the son (now an IDF soldier) of the former
IDF soldier came onstage to surprise his father. It was quite a touching and fun shocker.
Standing with Israel was next.
This is where many substantial monetary donations were given by individuals
who stood and spoke about their reasons for Standing with Israel.

Total pledges for the event
were between $6-700,000 in addition to Dr. Miriam Adelson adding a $5 Million donation.
What an exciting event this
was. Congratulations to the 8th Annual FIDF Las Vegas Tribute
Dinner and all those involved for a very successful and interesting event.
