Lainie has been receiving fantastic reviews for her latest movie, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, the sleeper hit of the summer. My Big Fat Greek Wedding has become the the biggest grossing independent movie of all time. Playing the Mother of a Greek girl who breaks tradition by falling in love with a non-Greek, Lainie has received tremendous adulation for her genuine and comedic performance in this heartfelt movie that has the Oscars and Golden Globe Awards buzzing about a possible Supporting Actress Award nomination.

Lainie is the embodiment of the word entertainer, an artist who has reached the pinnacle in virtually every area of performance. She is a multi-award winner in film, television and on stage. She began her career as Barbra Streisand's understudy in the Broadway prodution of Funny Girl. She appeared on The Dean Martin Show an unequalled 26 times, hosted her own variety special on NBC and opened the popular Lainie's Room and Lainie's Room East at the Los Angeles and New York Playboy Clubs.

Lainie has been nominated for numerous awards for her many movie and television performances over the years, but has never forgotten her roots as a live performer. For the reprisal of her origianl role in the musical version of My Favorite Year, Lainie received a Tony Award Nomination for Best Featured Actress. She also starred on Broadway with Tony Randall in The Government Inspector.

Lainie has sung with the Boston and Cleveland Pops and has performed to sold out houses throughout Europe, Asia and the United States. As a recording artist, her CD's include the jazz collections, Lainie Kazan - In The Grove and Body and Soul, a collection of graceful, feline sentiment that smolders with what Rex Reed called "More talent in her little finger that most singers have in their dreams." Lainie oozes sensual magnetism as she coos through her ballads and belts like a sassy blues woman.

Lainie also finds time to serve on the board for the Young Musician's Foundation, AIDS Project LA and the B'nai Brith. In 1990, she was presented The Israeli Peace Award.
