Downtown Las Vegas Visitor Profile Accentuates Adult Environment
The Fremont Street Experience Company conducted an intercept study profiling the traits of the downtown Las Vegas visitor. Marketing studies and focus groups indicate that downtown visitors are more likely to enjoy gambling than their counterparts on the Strip, and prefer the diversity that downtown offers.
This visitor sees downtown Las Vegas as a tourist attraction offering a wide choice of entertainment, accommodations and dining. Those studied preferred the bright lights, notability of Fremont Street, better pay odds, action, excitement and the feel of "the real Las Vegas" to that of the Strip.
With the legal gambling age of 21, and the majority of the businesses along Fremont Street being directed toward a mature audience, visitors bringing children to Las Vegas may prefer the more "family-oriented" activities offered along the Strip.
Primarily, the Fremont Street Experience will be a place
"where grown ups come to play." The project will
enhance what downtown provides today and what studies have shown
downtown visitors prefer--world class gaming in a friendly,
comfortable environment.
