Saying “Lai Lam’s Ping Pang Pong: The Chinese Kitchen” may be a mouthful, but every item on this novel restaurant’s menu is a mouthful of another kind: simply delicious!
Opening into the Gold Coast’s west casino, The Chinese Kitchen is a unique restaurant serving up a multitude of specialty dishes from the various provinces of China.
From oodles of noodles, rice and vegetables, to beef, pork, poultry and seafood, the choices are plentiful and varied. In fact, the offerings are so abundant that you will surely want to return often in order to try all of your favorite, authentically prepared Chinese dishes.
Among the provincial favorites on the menu are the Double-Braised Scallop Hot Pot (whole sea scallops seared, then simmered with garlic oyster sauce in a sealed clay pot); the Lotus-Wrapped Pork Ribs (steamed with five spices and chopped garlic); and the Simmered Fu Chiu (rolled tofu, flavored with chicken, Chinese ham and green beans).
Some of the other must-haves are the Plum-Orange Braised Leg of Duck, the Kung Pao Chicken, Walnut Prawns and the incredibly delectable Emperor’s Seafood Stew, a concoction fit for royalty that includes sun-dried abalone, fish maw and supreme sea cucumber simmered together in a superior broth.
Noodle dishes are equally delicious. Try the Calarmari Rice Noodle Soup (angel hair rich noodles with fresh calamari in a duck broth with cilantro and black vinegar); the XO Shrimp Lai Fen (hand-rolled rice noodles, wok-tossed with spicy XO chili sauce); or the Majong Noodles (Mandarin noodles in warm toasted sesame cream sauce).
