We started out great on National 12/24/00 6:45am flight on time. We had eggs, sausage, pancake and fruit cup for breakfast and yes there is more leg room!!
Caught limo at Gate5 to Caesars Palace for 3 nights in the Palace Tower, right??
WRONG!! I had called 2 weeks ago to confirm and others had stated that PT was not involved in construction, BUT we walked in and were told "There seems to be a problem with your reservation" NOT the 1st words we wanted to hear!! Due to construction they said no rooms were available that day! We had made reservations thru marketing for 3 nites with $50 food credit for $180 total...They offered to pay for 3 nights at Aladdins, gave us 4 buffet passes and $10 for the cabride to Aladdin, OK this might not be so bad!
Got to Aladdin and our room was SMALL, I had really been looking forward to the PT! So we upgraded to the Resort Room for $50per nite and it was great!!
HUGE batroom, nice size King bedroom, sofa, chair, desk, armoire, and the best part two windows with a view of the Blue Balloon and Eiffel tower at Paris, All of Bellagio including the lake with dancing waters at night, Mirage, Rio, and the mountains!! It was breathtaking!!
Ate at Aladdin buffet(good) coffeeshop(so-so)Caesars buffet(ok for the price)Mirage coffeeshop(good try the Banana Fosters Fench toast) Paris buffet(great) Golden Nuggett(Good as usual) and Harrahs coffeeshop.
No real luck on slots not even enough to keep us going, hubby did get dealt 4 6's on Carribbean stud and won the hand and the $500 bonus!!
We also met Carolina Boy and his new bride and Bulldog and his cute wife on Christmas Day at Terrazza Lounge, they were very nice and I enjoyed my 1st official "MEET".
Went to the airport on Wednesday 27th and was told that our 7:45pm flight had been delayed to 9:15pm National was handing out pillows, blankets, and snacks(I thought that was really nice). Talked to relatives in Irving and it had been sleeting for 4 hours....hmmmm....late night flight and sleet??? Not for me said I!! Asked about flying out the next day if I could find a room, NO problem, so I called Flamingo(we always wanted to try there)and got a room thru slot host for $49. Got our luggage and we were back on the strip by 9:00pm!! Played some more, slept and flew out at 1:00pm next afternoon. Caught shuttle back to Marriott and we both decided we were too tired to drive 185 miles back home so we got a room there and left the next morning.
Had fun but we won't go over Christmas again, just wasn't the laid back trip we had planned on, lines were TOO long at buffets even at odd times, there were lots of children(seemed even more than in the summer), and overall we will go from now on as usual the week after Rodeo finals......Well gotta go, we are planning our March trip even as I type!!!!!! :-) TM
