Wed Morning: Parked at Park 'n Fly for $10 day (pre-paid via web site) and quickly shuttled to MSP Main Terminal to make our 6:30am flight to LAS. Check in, boarding and flight went without a hitch. Read an entire paperback during the 3+ hour flight. Cormac Mcarthy is an easy read. Landed at 8:30am and grabbed our carry-on luggage and headed for the ground transportation. Cab ride to Golden Nugget was $37. Early check-in at GN went fine. We snagged our room as planned (North Tower Deluxe, NS king). Great room, clean and extremely comfortable bed. Rate was confirmed as I reserved it - 59/59/109 for Wed/Thu/Fri.

My first goal for this trip is to collect a casino chip from every place we gamble.

My only condition for this trip report will be to refer to all gambling wins and losses in units - not dollars. I'd like to keep my level of play private while still sharing relative win/loss amounts.

We walked over to Binions early Wed for some $3 craps to start the trip. Lost 4 units after 30 minutes and moved to a single deck Black Jack table featuring stripper dealers. Kinda weird with a dealer dressed that way so early in the day. After 20 mins, the casino placed a pole dancer right next to us - she was about as old as my youngest daughter. I left the table 6 units ahead and joined my Lou for some penny Monopoly slots. She lost 2 and I won 1. We headed back to GN Grotto for a light lunch.
Just as we were finishing lunch, I noticed Phil Helmuth walking by, so I caught up to him to shake his hand. We also walked past Tom Dwan and I overheard his guy saying 'we have 800 on the way over...', looks like High Stakes Season 6 is being staged here this weekend.

Wed Afternoon: Hung around like a poker star groupie for awhile looking for more high stakes guys. Walked past Gus Hanson and took a moment to meet Daniel Negreanu and Antonio Esfandiari hanging around outside the GN auditorium next to the Red Sushi. I asked Daniel and he did confirm season 6 is being recorded for the next 3 days.
Took a cab to the strip to begin my chip collecting. Won 1 unit at the Planet Hollywood dollar wheel. Won 12 units at MGM $10 craps table. Nubie shooter must have rolled 30 times! She even managed to hit a dealer in the chest on one roll.

Wed Evening: Checked out Bellagio fountains. Stopped at the Mix at THEhotel (Mandalay Bay) for a couple of $14 drinks and a great view of the strip. It was early, ~7:00pm, so there was no cover and very thin crowd. Dropped 10 units in about 8 mins at Mandalay craps table. Easy come easy go I guess. Dropped another 3 units at a $10 BJ table at Excalibur during a very ugly 8 minutes. Couple of beers, buffalo wings and pub fry sampler at the Pub - Monte Carlo. Not busy at all and the service was very slow. Good food as far as appetizers go; the bill was $40. Headed back to GN and lost 3 units in 10 minutes playing crapes. I hope tomorrow is better...

Wed Late Evening: One more trip to GN craps tables and lost again. Unforgiving shooters never hit a single point for me.
Total for Wed: -25 units

Thu Morning: Carson Street Café for breakfast. Good food, good service. Visited Four Queens for craps and lost 2 units. Brief visit at Fitzgeralds and lost 1 unit playing single deck blackjack. Tried craps again at GN and collected 20 units and left after one shooter. Attended 10:00 craps lessons with Lou and thought the dealer was a little confusing as he was describing pass and don't pass strategies together. Most students looked rather confused. They opened the table to the nubies and Lou lost 5 units and I lost 15. She was not impressed and never plans to play this game again.
Off to the strip again to collect more chips from Wynn, Palazzo and Venetian. Great casinos and a little slot play resulted in no loss or gain. Stopped at Dos Caminos for the best guacamole and chips in town. A couple of mojitos and we were energized for more walking.

Thu Afternoon: Sheas craps was very interesting. There was a guy at the table with the same first and last name as me! Must have been a bad omen because I dropped 10 units in no time. Ballys, Bills Casino Royale, Flamingo, Harrahs, and Paris bounced me up and down for some light slot play. All told, I am down 11 units for the day. Some gelato and a long walk through the endless Venetian/Palazzo mall rounded out the afternoon.

Thu Evening: Walked through Bellagio and stopped at Petrossian Paris for a drink and a glass of wine. Nice couch seating and friendly wait staff. Rather romantic stop for our 26th wedding anniversary today! Won 5 units on some Quick Hits slots. Then, we headed over to the Flamingo for Donnie & Marie. Our seats were right at the stage and we we able to shake hands with Marie before the start, and high fives from Donnie during the show. The show was great - nice variety and good cheesy chemistry between the two. Good dancing, great sound and overall production value. Older crowd - I'd say 60% were seniors. Walked out of the Flamingo into high winds and light rain. Dashed ofer to Cleopatras Bardge at Ceasars for a drink and fun dancing entertainment. Cab back to GN and we turned in by midnight.
Total for today: -10 units
Running trip total: -35 units

Fri Morning: Hmm... Friday the 13th. I am not fazed as today is the day for getting even.

Fri Afternoon: After a late breakfast, I dropped another 3 units playing BJ at GN. Played NL cash hold 'em for a few hours and netted 15 units. Lou lost a little playing slots then waited for me to finish up at the poker tables. Not much to do at GN except drink and gamble..

Fri Evening: Collected our 'O' tix at Bellagio stopped at Noodle for dinner. Food was standard Thai-American and was ok. 1 appetizer, 2 entrees and a couple glassed of wine cost about $60. Had a little luck playing some slots and BJ while waiting for our show to start - gained 7 units.
'O' was a disappointing bore. We had excellent seats and just found the show to be dull. While the skills, production value, amazing stage and logistics were impressing, this did not compare to 'Love' as we witnessed last year.
A little loss playing Black Jack at Bellagio and some late night craps an GN resulted in 13 unit gain.

Total for today: +20 units
Running trip total: -15 units

Sat Morning: Crummy breakfast at GN Carson Street Café. 10:00am check out at GN was a breeze. No surprise charges and no wait in line. They held our bags while we gambled a little more before heading to the airport to catch the 3:00pm flight back to Minneapolis. Played one last hurrah at the craps table and turned 15 units in 150 units in about 40 mins. I played progressive strategy as a few rollers (including me) hit multiple points. This was the best time I've ever had at the table. Very enjoyable. After I lost most of the profit to my greedy style, I departed 20 units ahead.

Sat afternoon: +20 units
Trip total: +5 units

Off to the airport for another very standard flight, landing and shuttle to our car. Excellent trip overall. Next time, we may stay on the strip for more variety and less cab rides.
